Sunshocked

This Friday the 13th, my website went down. But just like Jason, it’s back from the dead stronger than ever and ready to cause some damage thanks to the fine folks over at DreamHost.

You may have already heard of Snakes on a Plane, a movie coming out today about one plane and more than one snake. It’s prevalence in the blogosphere has been oft noted by mainstream media. But why? What has caused blogs everywhere to embrace it knowing literally no more than the title and the star?

Last week I fell in love with XFN, a microformat for representing human relationships. I immediately started sketching out fun ways to make it work for me. First stop, my Mac’s Addressbook.

I like to name my little projects in a similar fashion to military operations. Redesigning my website to make it more accessible was Project Infinite Access, revamping my wardrobe was Project Dashing Devil, and vying for a raise was Project Mo Money. It is with the same spirit of grim determination coupled with all-around jauntiness, that I embark upon Project Internet Famous.

Or something like that. I speak of Vloggercon, which went down only a few blocks from my house last weekend. I felt a little sorry for those that flew in from Amsterdam or wherever, but it’s their fault for not living in San Francisco.
